Second Harvest Food Bank BackPack Program
The nation's largest charitable hunger relief organization, America's Second Harvest provides America with over 2 billion pounds of food annually. Through its BackPack Program, America's Second Harvest meets the needs of hungry children when other resources, such as free school meals, are not available.

In New Orleans, the Collette Foundation is active in supporting the regions BackPack Program. Collette Employees are also active with the Second Harvest network in their respective regions.

United States Task Force Update

April 2008: As part of a national alliance with Second Harvest Food Banks, employees of Collette Vacations have begun to donate their time at the Rhode Island Food Bank as well as the local food banks in their respective regions.

March 2008: A $12,000 donation was given to the Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans. A pledge was made after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina that all profits made by Collette Vacations on travel to New Orleans would be donated back to the city, and the result was great funding for the BackPack Program!

February 2008: Visits to the Second Harvest Food Bank in New Orleans have been extremely successful! During our February visits over 6,000 pounds of food was packaged!
